progressions

In order to study the progress I've made on a painting when I am not able to be right in front of it, I've gotten in the habit of taking a digital photograph after each work session. And while this has been a very useful tool, it also makes for a fairly interesting slide show where you can watch the piece progress in each subsequent photo.

Progression: Lock #1

<<<Back           Next>>>

This is #1 in a series of six paintings of shiny metal locks. This was by far the most troubled of the bunch, but I think in the end it came out looking the best. (Amazing, considering what a piece of crap it was at many points along the way...)The interesting thing about this painting is the fact that I changed my mind on it being horizontal and changed it to a vertical orientation after about 3 weeks of work on it (you'll see!)
